’s mission is to help make positive change for all persons with disabilities through attention to improving systems and practices.

We work with grassroots groups and organizations as well as individuals.

Our team has over five decades of expertise making change happen in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

Our civic engagement activities are founded in our Deliberate Democracy for Disability Empowerment framework.

We firmly believe that the best way to improve outcomes for persons with disabilities & to ensure that rights are upheld and needed services and supports are prioritized is to encourage persons with disabilities and their allies to become active participants in all political processes, including engaging in discussions, being part of decisions and ensuring oversight and accountability.

Along with building a bench of persons in decision-making positions, the community of persons with disabilities will benefit from combatting the ignorance and stigma of disability – and uniting as a large, non-silo’ed community of persons with all kinds of disabilities. In furtherance of these goals, we have launched “The Forgotten Fifth” program to raise awareness and to encourage discussion and momentum to impact change in regard to ongoing discrimination and bias toward persons with disabilities.

In early 2020, we will be launching the “Disability News Digest” to engage the community around this important issue.

How we work

We are focused on the greater disability community and provide services for individuals, organizations, and specific issue projects that coincide with our mission.

Our initial screening process is set up to ensure that our values are aligned with our potential clients’ work.

We offer our services at reasonable per-project and hourly rates. We also understand that some individuals and groups may not be in a position to fund our services, so we’re excited to offer a range of scholarships, fundraising partnership opportunities, and various tailored fee options.

The way to change society’s view of disability is to have disabled leaders and allies at the table having important discussions and making important decisions. Our Running for Local Office Workshop is a key part of our internal program to build leaders and support activists.

Whether you are just beginning or are already working on a project or campaign, we are here to help.

We begin with the basics of preparing to run for office or seek an appointment and address important topics including: fundraising, compliance, campaign basics, communication, networking, endorsements, campaign tools – and more – to help you get to you election or interview… and beyond. We are here for you to help you succeed and make an impact for the community of persons with disabilities.

We are in the process of expanding our support to help you engage in other forms of civic engagement… including seeking appointments to boards and commissions, speaking at public meetings, meeting with current elected officials, and other important roles, so if you think we might be able to help you with your current path… please let us know.

One of the greatest challenges the disability community faces is an internal “division by diagnosis” or what has been referred to as “silo’ing” of persons with different types of disabilities.

We are very passionate about unifying the greater disability community and breaking down the “silo” tendencies we have seen. It is central to our own mission and something we keep in the forefront of every project we work on.

If you would like to work with us to build this allied community, we look forward to hearing from you!
